The President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) recognizes incredible individuals who are committed to a high level of volunteer and service. Since 2010, Ms. Rider has been presenting the Presidential Volunteer Service Award to Mahoning Valley volunteers and organizations. Presidential Recognition For Your Volunteers: . Bronze Award: 100 to 249 Hours - Silver Award: 250 to 499 Hours - Gold Award: 500+ Hours of veteran service These hours must have been completed within the last 12 months (from April 1, 2018 to March 31, 2019). The President’s Volunteer Service Award is an opportunity to honor your most outstanding volunteers and recognize the impact they make. The Presidential Service Awards organization is not awarding lifetime awards at this time, so the Society is awarding them directly from our Society.

The Presidential Volunteer Service Award is presented at the annual McCallum High School Awards night to any student who has completed 100 or more DOCUMENTED volunteer community service hours. United States citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States (i.e., green card holder) Must be at least five years old Completes eligible service within a 12-month period (for annual Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards) and over a lifetime (for Lifetime Achievement Awards) The PVSA was created to recognize and honor Americans who are engaged in their communities by way of voluntary service. The purpose for the Presidential Volunteer Service Award is to honor the hundreds of thousands of people across America that have volunteered hundreds, if not thousands of volunteer hours over their lifetime. These individuals work tirelessly to help solve some of the toughest challenges facing their communities, and our nation. In 2003, the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation founded the President’s Volunteer Service Award to recognize the important role of volunteers in America’s strength and national identity.
