As far as the boomers go, all mine digest nothing but premiums when I use them for hunting. I'm aiming for a load good to 500 yards under all conditions, including hitting heavy bone. I've taken a couple of elk with an old 270 win and 150gr Nosler partitions, so the WSM should work.

My .270 WSM is on a Wby. The .270 WSM is a very accurate round, has a thick tough casing, modern Ackley type 35 degree shoulder, 130 and 140 grainer's fly like a Lazer beam. Mine favors 140 gr. Just bought a 270 WSM in December and have not gotten the scope mounted yet. The .270 Winchester would be a good example of this. I like 150gr Winchester XP3. I think the 270 WSM should do just fine.

When moose hunting I like to walk relatively long distances and some of the terrain is up and down.

It has a great trigger and is guaranteed to shoot sub MOA.
