There is nothing mindless nor harmful about Moral Orel. The rating and review in this log corresponds with the series this short film is the prequel for. It is a reflection of our society and one that educates and entertains in very important ways. Moral Orel is an American adult stop-motion animated television series, which originally aired on Adult Swim from December 13, 2005 to December 18, 2008. In another review here I read that Moral Orel does what people believe "South Park" is attempting to do: mindlessly shock and harm a segment of our population. In reality they are for the most part depraved hypocrites. Moral Orel at first glance is yet another contribution to the seemingly endless and definitely tiresome array of television satire of the American family with rather shallow criticism and in my opinion safe jokes. Orel lives in a town of good moral protestants, or so they would have you think. This sinfully clever stop-motion series packs a wallop of a message in a short amount of time -- and that's part of the problem. Moral Orel was originally supposed to be a 1950s-style live action sitcom featuring Iggy Pop, but the rock star didn't read the script. Religion in the show serves as a means of deceiving themselves and others into believing they are good and happy people.
